Steve Koussa grew up in Narragansett, RI and attended the University of Rhode Island earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education and Health. It was during his time in college that Steve got serious with fitness training. Realizing his passion for training individuals to improve their personal fitness goals Steve became a personal trainer and eventually opened his own gym in 1980, Steve’s Gym and Fitness Center.
Back in the 80’s and early 90’s Steve would take 1 or 2 trips a year to train at Gold’s Gym in Venice, CA, the epicenter (‘Mecca’) of fitness training in those days. It was on these trips that Steve honed his craft and his ability to cater his training routines to meet his clients goals.
During the past 30+ years Steve’s client base included high school to professional athletes, triathletes, runners, all age groups, men and women, and members of the military.
Steve maintains an intense physical fitness routine himself and if he’s not working in the gym you can likely see him running up and down Route 1A on many afternoons.
